Universities often market themselves the same way—using polished images of diverse students under a tree, reading a book, paired with a message like “You will change the world.”
Instead of following the same formula, Rich Wakefield and his team set out to create a movement. The goal was to invite current students to share with future students what it’s really like to be a Temple University student.
The team produced a commercial that aired during televised Temple football games, alongside outdoor placements featuring raging, face-painted fans—painted by Temple Drama students. All imagery used throughout the campaign was sourced directly from #TempleMade on Instagram, ensuring the work reflected authentic student voices and experiences.
